How to Place and Process an Online Order

This article explains how a customer places an online order and how dispensary staff fill, complete, and close the order in Marijuana Software.

Customer: Place an Online Order
a. After selecting the desired items, the customer will click the Shopping Cart icon in the upper-right corner of the website.
b. The customer will review the order, remove any unwanted items, and then select Checkout.
c. They will complete all required information on the left side of the checkout form.
d. On the right side of the form, they select the applicable order options:
  • Pickup or Delivery
  • Recreational or Medical
e. Next, the customer will select a payment option. If the dispensary uses an integrated payment processor such as CanPay, that option will appear during checkout. Otherwise, only Cash will be available.
f. Lastly, the customer will click Place Order to submit the online order.
Staff: Begin Filling the Online Order
a. When the order is received, an online-order notification appears on the Marijuana Software Main Menu. A copy of the order should also print from the designated online-order printer.
b. On the Sales screen, locate the red online-order notification light, commonly referred to as the “Krispy Kreme Red Light.”
c. When you are ready to begin filling the order, click the red notification light.
d. Review the customer details and the list of ordered items. Select the green status button to set the order to Filling.
e. Gather all items included in the customer's order.
f. Return to the online-order screen and select the green status button again to set the order to Ready.
Staff: Complete the Sale and Close the Order
a. When the customer arrives for pickup, collect payment if the order was not paid through an integrated payment processor.
b. Go to the Sales screen, locate the customer, and select New Order next to the customer's name.
c. Ring up all items included in the online order and close the sale as usual.
d. Return to the online-order page and select the green status button one final time to set the order to Closed.
Complete: The sale is finalized, and the online order is now closed.
