| How to Set Up Loyalty and Redemption Discounts | |
|---|---|
|
This article explains how to turn on loyalty points, create a redemption discount, apply that discount during a sale, and review loyalty point changes after a redemption or refund. |
|
| Turn On Loyalty Points | |
| Step 1 | From the main menu, click Edit Account. |
| Step 2 | Click the Loyalty Information tab. |
| Step 3 | Click Edit. |
| Step 4 | Set Auto add reward points to True. |
| Step 5 | In the Rewards points to dollars spent field, enter how much each point is worth. For example, entering 1 means 1 point is worth $1.00 spent. |
| Step 6 | Click Update Store Account. |
| Create a Redemption Discount | |
| Step 1 | Go to the Products page. |
| Step 2 | Decide how many points a customer must earn before they can redeem points, and decide how much the redemption discount will be worth. |
| Step 3 | Click Manage Discounts. |
| Step 4 | Click Create New Discount. |
| Step 5 | Enter a name for the discount. |
| Step 6 | In the Discount Type dropdown, select the Redemption style. |
| Step 7 | For Discount Amount, choose whether the discount will be a dollar amount or a percent amount, then enter the discount value. |
| Step 8 | In the Redemption Points Cost field, enter how many points the customer must have before they can use the redemption discount. |
| Example | If the redemption points cost is set to 100 and the discount amount is set to $10.00, the customer must earn 100 points before they can redeem those points for $10.00 off. |
| Step 9 | Click Save. |
| Apply a Redemption Discount During a Sale | |
| Step 1 | Go to the Sales tab. |
| Step 2 | Find a customer who has enough loyalty points to use the redemption discount. |
| Step 3 | Click the Details link next to the customer name. |
| Step 4 | Click the Loyalty Program tab to confirm the customer has enough points. |
| Step 5 | Click New Order next to the customer name, then select the applicable menu option to begin the order. |
| Step 6 | Add items to the order. The redemption discount will only appear when the order total is high enough to cover the redemption amount. For example, a $10.00 redemption discount will not appear if the order total is less than $10.00. |
| Step 7 | Once the order total is high enough, click Whole Order Discount. |
| Step 8 | Select the redemption discount, then click Update. The discount amount will be removed from the order total. |
| Step 9 | Close the sale as usual. |
| Review Loyalty Points After a Redemption | |
| Step 1 | After the sale is closed, return to the customer's Details page. |
| Step 2 | Click the Loyalty Program tab. |
| Step 3 | Confirm that the customer's loyalty points were reduced by the redemption points cost. The loyalty history will also show a note with the order number where the redemption was used. |
| Review Loyalty Points After a Refund | |
| Step 1 | If an item needs to be refunded, locate the item on the order and click Refund next to that item. |
| Step 2 | Complete the refund. The refunded amount reduces the customer's loyalty point total based on the reward point setup. For example, refunding a $5.00 item removes 5 points when 1 point equals $1.00 spent. |
| Step 3 | Return to the customer's Details page and click the Loyalty Program tab. |
| Step 4 | Confirm that the customer's points were reduced by the refunded amount. The loyalty history will also show a note with the order number tied to the refund. |
| Loyalty and redemption discounts are now set up. Customers can earn points automatically, redeem eligible discounts during checkout, and have their loyalty history updated after redemptions and refunds. | |
